What Now

Three days into Spacedock refit, Admiral White asked certain members of the Crew to assemble in a conference room. The most unusually part of this meeting was it was held at 0500 in the morning and other members of the general staff were not invited.

As everyone arrived, no one knew what to expect.

The convocation of the Admiral to the conference room came quite unexpected. Steve was definitely enjoying some off time while the Montana was being worked on. He walked fast towards the conference room to then stop abruptly at the entrance. He double checked his uniform to confirm it was in perfect conditions. Satisfied with his assessment, he chimed in and walked across the door inside the starbase's meeting room.

"Good morning" he shily saluted the presents while trying to find a decent place where to sit down.

"Good morning," Murphy answered. He wondered what assignment they were about to receive from the Admiralty. He glanced over to the Captain, but was given no indication that he knew what the orders would be, either.

Admiral White walked into the room, and wasted no time starting to speak. "Thank you for being here so early. I do realize this is an unusual time of day for a meeting. The thing is, I have a full plate today. Your new orders are to head to planet Babel and provide support for a conference occurring on the planet. Essentially be a deterrent in case anyone decides to interfere with the conference. If you have any questions, leave a message with my staff. I'm sorry I can't stick around. Godspeed to you all."

Just as abruptly as he had entered the room, Admiral White was gone again. He definitely left the impression of a busy man with too much to do and not enough time to do it.

Murphy wondered why they had to meet in person for this, but was not going to start a discussion questioning the Admiralty. Instead he said to the officers assembled in the room, "Alright. To Babel we go. I'll have the ship ready to depart at 0600 hours." He then stood, and lead the rest of the staff out of the conference room.
