Mission:
The World We Never Knew
Location: Archer IV
ON:
After a brief rendezvous and repair operation, the ships had set course for Archer IV, an uninhabited class M planet in the beta quadrant. Starfleet diplomats would be attempting to smooth over the situation with the Babel government.
Montana bridge
Commander Murphy was on the bridge of the Montana. The away team on the rescued ship was keeping in touch as they helped Plex's people get situated on the planet.
"Commander, what is our plan to keep these people 'out of trouble' while they rebuild?"
"I think we need to trust Starfleet's diplomatic corp to take care of that. I'm sure they aren't planning to go anywhere near Babel for a long time."
[Alien ship’s Bridge]
“I don’t think I really understand entirely how your propulsion system works. We basically patched up everything except maneuvering thrusters and warp drive.” Deborah shook her head “We didn’t have much time so we did what we could with what we had”.
The blonde engineer was speaking with a delegation of the alien’s engineers. Steve was observing her from afar, standing on the bridge of what had been, for a brief time, his ship. He kept his arms crossed and smiled as she was discussing technical things he didn’t understand.
He turned towards the main console and tapped a few buttons opening a channel with the USS Montana.
=^= Montana, Lieutenant Ryan here. We got the last repairing team standing by to beam back on board. Last to depart will be me and Ms. Odonnel as soon as we’ll finish to return the ship to the owners, if we are not needed here for something else =^= he grinned and let the Montana teleport the last bunch of officers back to their ship.
=^= Montana acknowledges. You're all clear on our end, we'll be standing by for your return. =^=
The black-haired lieutenant confirmed the successful disembark of the engineering personnel and turned once again towards Deborah. She was almost over in explaining all the systems they had touched and how they patched them up. He closed in.
“Are we done, ensign?” he asked her.
“Yes, sir, if our friends needs further information they will still be able to contact us through Starfleet. But I guess they’ll be good to go without further hints.” The engineer acknowledged.
“So we’re ready to get back onboard…I guess”
Steve shook the hands of the present delegation and moved, with Deborah on his side, towards the center of the bridge.
“It wasn’t a bad ship afterall” he commented shooting a last glance to his bridge.
“It served us well I would say…and I kind of liked the captain” Deborah told him grinning
=^= Montana, two to beam up =^= finally communicated Steve while still smiling at the ensign’s comment.
The familiar hum of the transporter brought them back to the Montana.
[USS Montana Bridge]
"All crew are back onboard," Lieutenant Tiller called out from Communications.
"Thank you, Lieutenant," answered Commander Murphy. "That wraps up everything here on our end, Captain."
The two officers coming from the alien ship materialized on board.
"We're back" Steve commented "We handed over the vessel to the owners" he explained to the Captain and the Commander "Ens. O'Donnel gave a brief overview of the repairs done" he looked at her "I guess they'll be good, at most they'll ask Starfleet for the specs of the fixings we did onboard" he concluded.
"Very well, then. Let's get everyone on the ship and get underway."
Turning to the First Officer, the Captain Continued,
"Commander, we have been ordered to return to spacedock. Therefore, set course for earth, warp factor 5."
