Eisenhorn kept the tricorder locked on the leader. The readings were steady now: human, Starfleet, matching personnel files closed eleven years earlier. “Captain,” she said, “cross-check these biometrics against the USS Cairn. Lost with all hands, stardate 8130.4.”

Murphy moved to the console. The lights flickered.

Eisenhorn stepped between the biobed and the visitors. “You’re either a joke or proof someone rewrote the casualty lists. Which is it?”

The leader ignored her. “Return what he took.”

“I’m not talking to him.” Her voice sharpened. “I’m talking to the body that, according to Starfleet, was vaporised a decade ago.”

Murphy’s console chimed. “Exact matches. DNA, facial recognition, everything. They’re listed as dead.”

Eisenhorn exhaled. “Dead people in my Sickbay. Perfect.” She ran a deeper scan: neural activity, chroniton residuals. “Not ghosts. Not holograms. Something pulled you out of the moment you died.”

The leader’s eyes fixed on her. “You are not authorised to interfere.”

“Authorised by whom?” she asked. “Because the only authority here is the tricorder confirming you shouldn’t exist.” The sickbay console lit up on its own, scrolling temporal equations.

Eisenhorn’s jaw tightened. “Whatever Mudd took isn’t just out of its time. It’s bleeding. And you’re the symptoms.” She didn’t step back as the leader advanced. “Captain! Seal sickbay. Now!”
