| Physical Description | Katja is slightly taller than average for a human female. Her build is slim, and she is physically fit - akin to a dancer's body. Her expression can be very serious when working on a problem or having a lot on her plate; but she is known for an easy smile and a boisterous laugh. Katja is no stranger to skin art. She has a large, leafy vine tattoo that starts on the side of her skull and runs down her neck, shoulder, and down the entirety of her left arm. She also has two small slashes over her eye - meaning entirely unknown to anyone save her. |

Personality & Traits
| General Overview | Katja was born and raised on Earth - specifically Germany. She is fluent in a number of Earth languages, and knows just enough Klingon and Vulcan to get herself into trouble. She knew she wanted to be a doctor even as a young child when her make believe play turn to diagnosing and treating her stuffed animals' and young friends' injuries and ailments. It was not surprising, given that her parents both practiced medicine (her mother a psychiatrist and her father a family medicine physician), that Katja too decided to study medicine, however her focus proved to be quite a departure from her parent's more sedate choices. She chose trauma surgery, as the high-octane specialty aligned with her desire to seek out adrenaline producing activities. Her parents supported her medical pursuits, although they were disinclined to accept her choice to join Starfleet. "You'll be too far away." They groused. "You will miss Christmases." They continued. |
